March
Business Expo
A great event to promote your business and to network. Chamber members have the opportunity to promote their businesses to our community for free. Raffle and door prizes are given away throughout the event.
April
Banquet and Auction
Items donated by Chamber members and businesses nationwide are auctioned as a fund raiser for the Chamber. Great deals on vacation destinations, sports tickets and memorabilia are only a few of the items donated and auctioned annually. Great food and live music make this one of our best events. The Chamber also recognizes members who have "gone that extra mile".
Tech Seminar
The Focus on Your Business Tips and Tricks session is a step-by-step demonstration designed to introduce small and home-based business owners to some useful features in Microsoft® products - in particular Microsoft Office and the Windows® 7 operating system - that can help them save time, easily connect with others, and enjoy peace of mind.
May
MayFest
Before the famed maypole dancing begins, our LTRCC Queen leads a procession to the maypole, where she declares winter over and spring begins. Children are then lined up to dance around the maypole, holding on to long ribbons attached at the top. They form two circles, facing in opposite directions, right shoulder to right shoulder. The music starts and the dancers braid the colorful ribbons around the tree. This is truly a sight to behold.
Beauty Pageant
A great event for any girl of any age. Here are the following categories: Baby Miss: 0-3, Little Miss 4-8, Pre-teen Miss 9-12, Miss 13-18. The overall winner goes on to represent LTRCC and it communites.
July
Fourth of July
Sponsored by the West Tawakoni Park Events. Fun for the whole family. Concert and free fireworks show. This show will only take place if enough funds are raised.
September
Dagger Board Regatta
A great event for the whole family. This is a wonderful event to gather up your friends and family and come out to the lake to watch these beautiful sailboats race through the water. The best way to watch the race is to pack a picnic and get in a boat and just sit on the lake and watch them go.
Kids Safety Day
This is a day for community children to attend a safety day held at the city park in West Tawakoni. Each child will receive their own goodie bag along with helpful advice on safety. Fingerprinting is provided free along with hands on demonstrations. This is an event you will not want your child to miss.
Business Seminar
Business Planning 101 Business plans for new ventures, to include: marketing, risk management and GAAP analysis.
October
Golf Tournament
This event is open to anyone who wants to enjoy a day of golf, food, raffles and an all around day of fun.
Trunk or Treat
This event is not just for the little ones. This is a great time to come out and promote your business while you hand out candy. There are hot dogs and games for all ages.
November
Thanksgiving Luncheon
This is a time of Thanksgiving and we at the Chamber always want to give back to our community. This luncheon's proceeds go to help a worthy cause in our community.
December
Christmas Tree Lighting
A great event for all ages. This happens the Friday eveneing before the LTRCC Christmas Parade. There are games for the kiddos and pictures taken with Santa. There are bounce houses, trains, and sometimes pony rides. There are free hot dogs, cookies, apple cider and more. Then we light up our town's tree.
Christmas Parade
This is a time that everyone comes together to celebrate this wonderful time of the year. Anyone can enter the parade whether you are a business or an individual. We have many categories: Marching/Walking, Classic Auto, Classic Tractor, Youth, Horse & Rider, Business, Schools and more. Check the event page for more details.
Christmas Lighting Contest
This is a time that you can promote your business by making it shine. This contest is for residents and businesses alike. It is always a friendly competition with no Grinch stealing your lights and bobbles. Residents and businesses are judged separately. This is a time honored tradition that everyone covets. You can proudly display your trophy at your business or on your mantle over your home fireplace.
Christmas in the Park
This event allows business, organizations and residents an opportunity to decorate their own tree or display to be displayed in the park. This is a contest and prizes are given to the winners. You could decorate your tree to represent your business, a personal cause (i.e. pick tree for breast cancer) or perhaps a tree for your church/club organization. There will be hayrides, pictures with Santa, and concession for a small fee. Carolers will sing you through the park as you view beautiful lights of Christmas.
